RADIO BLACKOUT X MTC X CUBE
-
Sat 14 March // 14:00
Tickets: £8 Advance, £10 Concessions, £12 General Release
Bottom up culture, as static on dust particles, accumulates invisibly beneath the sheet of conformity — releasing itself through collision and separation, in not fully predictable ways.
Music to Come, Arsider, Misto Mame, Siamo Solo Noise and the Cube Microplex present “Like Static in the Dust”: two days of screenings and live sound and music, mapping the connections between underground collectives practicing autonomy and cultural self-production, beyond the circuits of the mainstream.
DAY 2 - Saturday 14th March - from 2pm till late!
The second day will see an extended lineup from members of Italian guesting collectives Arsider, Misto Mame and Siamo Solo Noise, paired with a local counter part proposed by Music to Come and the Cube Microplex, sparring across the venue through cut-up and manipulation techniques, NoFi soundscapes, inter-dimensional psychic sound journeys…
Adriano Cava - “mikrokosmos” a sonic pantomime through multi-speaker system
Sonic explorer, tape collector, selector and tireless diy activist into the most vital underground Italian realms - Misto Mame, Radio Blackout and the Riforma label - brings his No-Fi spatialisation, shaping delicate and immersive geometry into silent micro-soundscapes.
Anna Giovanna - inter-dimensional psychic sound journeys
Lost-in-time digger and selector, her sets are built from K7 tapes, pedals, and oscillators are dangling between forgotten frequencies and lofi sound tape collages. She is part of Mistomame Collective and one half of A. La Fin. Looking for your way? “Akkatastare” is the way!
Arsider x Avon Terror Corps - sonic juggernaut + vocals
The intricate, polysemous multi device reflecting our multidimensional audio-reality called Arsider, led by uncompromising Capitano and Tommaso, operates across the entire spectrum, from high-end broadcast studios to the raw, chaotic static of street protests. This sonic juggernaut can turn any audio debris into a doom-scrolling, hyper-whirl braindance. Joined for the occasion by unknown Avonian vocal entities for maximal psycho-societal tumult audio-rendering.
BKV Industrial x Mugwort Maiden - No-Dub + dungeon DJ set
No need for introduction; the tale has long been foretold. Two local legends meet for a unique music blend, off the charts, off the market: no-dub + cyberphunk + ritual industrial + dungeon…
Copper Sounds x Franco Franco - hypnotic sculptural freestyle session
Bristol’s sounds-blacksmiths and the Italian MC meet for a one-of full-spinning session. Behind closed curtains the silhouetted mechanism revolves perpetually on its own elements: copper + fossils + stones + bars in a tect/sonic assault.
not399093 - spectral romanticism / smarmello-core
DIY soldier and the architect behind NO-FI MILITIA. Co-founder of Riforma and a vital node of Misto Mame, his sound is "muddy post-mainroom": a marble-heavy, wobbling dub gloom called smarmello-core. From spectral romanticism to jungle atmospheres chewed by malfunctioning hardware, his sets are a perpetual state of oscillation between electronic dementia and paralysis, crafted as an intimate lore for the gloom of urban abyss.
Silver Waves - industrial shoegaze collage DJ set
Electroacoustic composer, audio engineer and improv. force Dylan Mallet, joins the proceedings with a full ranging DJ set, blending field recordings, pneumatic drill foley, chopped and screwed vocals and gnarled string instruments - in a new age industrial sound collage.
tskali + Henry Wilson - dual performance glitchwise emotionality
HW's inimitable mixture of performance art and spoken word finds tskali in a rarer mode of glitchwise noise and ambient, staging a dialogue between a performer and a DJ equally seeking constant experimentalism and emotionality.
