We are delighted to see the return of Nottinghams Dystopian Future Movies who play a heavy, experimental post rock. Incorporating melodic vocals with discordent riffs, this band have been wowing audiances, including Desertfest 2017, since they were last here. With an album out last June on Oak Island/Kozmik Artifactz that has recieved rave reviews, this band is one to watch on the up.
"DFM wove a web of molten gossamer over the hypnotised audience. The stark, striking sound was utterly captivating." Ghost Cult Magazine
"Dystopian Future Movies' drone-like sludge is juxtaposed with finesse against beautifully gentle arpeggios." - Echoes And Dust
Soden are an instrumental behometh from Worcestershire. Their dense, scuzzy lo-fi sound crushes you with doom riffs, but underneath that wall are dynamic melodies, and textured sounds which create an atmosphere that should not be possible from three musicians and a bunch of fuzz pedals. Ok, not just fuzz pedals. Album 'Led By Foxes' is full of grooves, riffs and fills, and shows that loud and quiet doesn't need to sound generic. Top stuff!
Age Decay are fast becoming a Bristol institution. Blackened doom pop, their sound marries grinding riffs to atmospheric passages and layers them with mournful vocals and samples. Influences take in everything from Converge, to Wolves in The Throne Room and from Gorecki to Alice in Chains.
