Arch provocateur Lars Von Trier’s latest sees the owner of a IT firm hiring a failed actor to pose as the company director he has invented to get himself out of trouble. As the actor finds himself getting more and more comfortable in the role, the deceptive ‘Office’ style comedy reveals Trier’s ongoing exploration of inherent power struggles within the wider corporate and capitalist society of Europe.

As an extra tongue in the film’s cheek, Trier chose to use a computer to call and frame the shots, citing the film to be shot in the new process of
‘Automavision’.
