This month has something of a Valentine's Day style romantic theme, though one in typically tawdry The Hell With Hollywood style. 'Seven Women for Satan' is a French film, banned in its native country upon release in 1974. Based upon the story 'The Most Dangerous Game' about an evil aristocrat who takes to hunting humans for fun, which had previously inspired a couple of Hollywood horror films previously. The Gallic twist here is that our big game hunter decides that the ultimate quarry is naked ladies. If such psychosexual sadism sounds like we're entering torture porn territory, in execution 'Seven Women for Satan' inadvertently owes more to Benny Hill than Eli Roth. Add some gratuitous go-go dancing and grotesque 70s fashions, and you have a
satisfyingly cheesy film fondue of sleaze and silliness. Groovy!
