Coaction... kicks into action... with this first happening, down at our dear Cube.
Bringing together artists from far and near for a communal gathering around sound exploration, nurtured by palestinian food, with a fundraising mission which you can contribute to, with your presence and participation.
Come early, stay late on this sure-to-be-fine sunday here in Bristol, as we tune our ears and hearts to a shifting, throbbing, beating pulse.
Expect unconventional, circular breathing acoustic drone excursions, including ancient/modern self-built instruments ranging from one, to three pipes - Clarinet, Aulos, Launeddas - and organ-vocal led folk in antifascist style.
All acoustic, raw performance - no amplification needed - let the sound bounce off the walls and into our bodies.
Early tickets £10, £13 thereafter.
Please be in touch if you're struggling financially.
*SOME XTRA INFO & TIMELINES FOR THE EVENT:*
To begin, In the courtyard/garden, we'll start with home cooked palestinian food from Nablus, via Bristol - please come early, and bring extra cash to support the fundraise action and join for the communal nourish.
Then - also in the courtyard - Sade Arellano will play melodies, drones and vocalise in their uniquely real & raw way, opening up a vortex of word & sound for us.
Inside the cinema hall: A triple bill for clarinet, aulos and launeddas: single, double and triple pipe.
Madison Greenstone, Lukas De Clerck and Jamie Green.
All delve into the depths of polyphony and timbral excursions through acoustic drone, by letting reed ring infinitely with circular breathing...
Please check the link for the charity for which we'll raise funds with food:
Hebron International Resource Centre - a palestinian led, international group of activists working on the ground in the Masafer Yatta region of Palestine (West Bank), doing great work on a daily basis. A few bristolians (*antifascist football team) easton cowfolk for example) have connected with them in the past, and we can confirm that their work is highly important and effective, in the face of ever growing settler and israeli army injustices in the region of Hebron.
