BHAJAN BHOY

"the concept is spectrally sound!" (Byron Coley / The Wire magazine)

“Who else could make music with such a cool range of instruments and styles and make it sound so…. Cool!" (Bilinda Butcher / my bloody valentine)

“as contemporary deep psych trips go this is seriously potent gear - the perfect soundtrack for invoking the messianic spirit of Timothy Leary” (Shindig Magazine)

Born in Kenya to Indian parents and based in Amsterdam, Bhajan Bhoy has been making and releasing albums filled with kosmische guitar psych magick / sonic raga trips / melodic mantras / esoteric electronica since 2020. Having self-released his first two albums to great acclaim, the music reached the ears of the head honchos at Feeding Tube Records (USA) and Cardinal Fuzz (UK) who have since released six albums. In April 2026, BHAJAN BHOY will be bringing the music to listeners who carry an open mind, heart and ears. His live shows have attracted the attention of the likes of J Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.) and The Notwist, who asked BHAJAN BHOY to join them on shows / tours in the past. He has toured twice in the USA and done several tours through Europe. He recently performed at Le Guess Who? Festival in Utrecht (November 2025) where he received a rapturous reception in a packed 500 capacity church, with reviews in Mojo Magazine and The Quietus.
Prior to Bhajan Bhoy, Saggar was in bands including Dandelion Adventure, Donkey, Deutsche Ashram, The Bent Moustache and King Champion Sounds. One of the best live sound engineers around, he manned the sound desk on tours for My Bloody Valentine ('08-09), Dinosaur Jr, Animal Collective, Mum, Godspeed You Black Emperor!, Mogwai, Sleater-Kinney + many more.

Reviews of his show at Le Guess Who?:

MOJO - "Minimalist, lengthy and free to drone, it’s an immersive experience that pulses with cosmic illumination. And MOJO is pleased to be reminded that the performer – AKA Ajay Saggar – is also the man who had has head shaved on the video for Dinosaur Jr’s Freak Scene back in 1988."

The Quietus - "A “must-see” heard in many conversations is Ajay Saggar, aka Bhajan Bhoy, who plays specially commissioned tracks and cuts from his latest album 'Summer In St. Mary’s' on the organ in the Speelklok Museum. This is a very affecting set. The drone of the huge, 35-pipe strong behemoth, coupled with the clear, simple patterns invoked by Saggar, finds further accord with a tangible sense of quiet determination to create, whatever the cost."

ZAHRA HAJI FATH ALI TEHRANI
Zahra Haji Fath Ali Tehrani is a musician, composer, performer and award-winning director of the Young Women’s Music Project. She is based in Oxford where she was born and raised as a second-generation immigrant, her father having emigrated to the UK from Iran and her mother being Irish. Thoughts on identity run as an undercurrent through her creative process as she connects the different cultures she embodies. Zahra has also toured drumming for acts such as Lafawndah, Young Knives, and a residency with Stealing Sheep. She performed Atigheh on the BBC Introducing stage at Latitude, before taking the EP on tour across the UK and then onto supporting Islet on their album tour.

DOUBLE PELICAN

Double Pelican is a Bristol-based freeform musical group / avant folk trio. Hypnotic and Krautrock like drums form the foundations upon which guitars and such carve the decorative walls of this sometimes hallucinatory castle.
