            ALASDAIR ROBERTS
+ MICHAEL ORMISTON + MANY FINGERS
and Stich Stich DJ's
(Thursday 13 May / 7pm / £6 concs / £7)
A return to Bristol for AR as a solo performer. Robert's take on British folk is seductive to old and new fans. He harnesses a new energy and expressiveness by utilizing waltz's, ballads, music-hall and odd eastern tunings. A strong and generous performer who employs his greatest strength: his wonderful voice. His anachronistic, Old English lyric phrasing slips flawlessly through his creaking, world-weary Scottish brogue. Fans of Appendix Out (Drag City - and his former band), John Martyn, Charlie Parr and Shirley Collins will adore.
Michael will perform with Candida an amazing style of overtone/harmonic singing. A inspired and inspirational performer. The unique sounds are made using Mongolian Khmii (overtone and undertone) singing, Tibetan Singing bowls, shaman drums, jaw's harps and electronics.
MF loops guitar, drum, glockenspiel and then layers up unique sample symphonies of an organically jazzy and beautiful resonance. Has recently released his debut album.
