Seafarers was shot in Rotterdam, the worlds largest port, during March and April 2003. It follows four seafarers; a Swede, a Croat, a Polynesian and a Nigerian – each with their own incredible story – as they wait in Rotterdam to go back to sea.
Jason Massot began as a documentary editor before becoming a director. He has made 15 documentaries for British Television including films about the police for Channel 4 Television and a portrait of a group of American Franciscan friars for the BBC.
The new score is by Will Oldham (Bonnie Prince Billy), one of America’s most celebrated cult musicians.
