(Fri 27th / 7.30 pm / free/donations)
What better way to spend a cold, dark January evening than a free gig in the warm, comfy confines of the Cube Cinema? Expect an eclectic array of sounds from some of Bristol's finest bands.
The Jelas are a hyperactive noise-rock three piece specialising in pop-punk- math mayhem. With an erratic, noisy and fun live set, this band should not be missed. Check out their new album here:
http://jelas.bandcamp.com/ Line produce a fine blend of melodic and motorik using a combination of wind- driven organ, guitars and drums, with an impressive body of work steadily trickling out over the past decade, and featuring members of Soeza and Motes.
http://www.myspace.com/linemusic MXLX (Matt Loveridge/Fairhorns/Gnar Hest/Beak/Anika etc.) constructs blissful pieces of sonic-noise-drone, combining electronics and various other
instruments. Or he might do something different.
Falling Stacks are the lovechild of Ian Mackaye and Steve Albini. Good post- hardcore sounds, all awkward riffs and raw vocals.
DJs, dancing and fun times after the bands.
Donations welcome - all proceeds going to the bands.
