Conquering Animal Sound is the arresting musical emanations of two Glasgow residents Anneke Kampman and James Scott. Kampman's beautiful layered vocals glide over the glacial electronica and acoustic wonder of the productions they co-create using harp, keyboards and an array of other instruments. The chiming beauty of their performances and recordings unsurprisingly strike comparisons with Bjork, Fever Ray and other Scandinavian torch-bearers, tapping into that same pop ethos that lifts their music above it's folk-tronica bedding.
Support on the night comes from the pleasing folk delights of Arctic Circle, and the début show from Lonely Man, a solo side project from Bare Threads guitarist Adam Lewes.
