Mariee Sioux sings beautiful American folk songs. Her album “Faces in the Rocks” mixes hints of traditional Native American sounds with Mariee’s wonderful fingerpicking style and captivating, soothing voice.
Since the release of her first album, she has drawn comparisons from Joanna Newsom to Joni Mitchell, and she has toured through North America and Europe, often alongside fellow folk singer Alela Diane. She is currently collaborating with Bonnie "Prince" Billy.
Support comes from Martha Rose and My Two Toms;
Martha Rose writes sunny melodic songs about the people she meets and the things she sees, with banjo and lap steel. The music is full of stirring melodies. It is a dark mixture of folk and country, with old-fashioned delicacy and beauty.
My Two Toms spin delicate melodies from banjo, guitar and ukulele. “The melodies are direct, memorable, and inseparable from the interlocking harmonies that are weaved around them” Charlie Parr.
