Too much has been said about this film already. I imagine this will be a second viewing for many and a cautious first for those who waited. The study of grief of two individuals when they suffer the loss of their son or a bitter sweet fantasy world theatre set up to twist and tease us, the audience. Many feelings emerge during the film including a little discomfort. Von Trier likes to shock and he is as always interested in how the audience processes the presentation of duality - pain and beauty, good and evil, man and woman and the emotions this duality provokes.
Erotic violent intense. An emotional thriller... or over-hyped.
