April 2009 marks the twentieth anniversary of the greatest disaster in British sporting history, where 96 people lost their lives at what was supposed to be that year’s FA Cup Semi Final. However, what actually happened on that day has, over the years, been concealed by official obfuscation and, in some cases, outright lies. SHEILA COLMAN, lecturer from John Moores University, Liverpool and active member of the Hillsborough Justice Campaign, talks about the issues Hillsborough raised and how the victims’ families are still fighting for justice two decades on. DANIEL BENNETT, a Liverpool fan and eye- witness to the event describes what happened from his perspective. Introduced by DAVID GOLDBLATT, the Bristol-based author of the acclaimed history of football, The Ball Is Round.
