Following his critically acclaimed Vengeance Trilogy, Park has chosen to eschew the ultraviolence and moral grey-areas in favour of something that can only be described as a magic-realist reinterpretation of 'One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest'. A love story set in a mental hospital, the film sensitively explores lives of the patients, focussing principally on Young-goon - a girl who believes herself to be a combat cyborg. Featuring a host of eccentric characters, and the best yodelling sing-along since The Sound Of Music, 'I'm A Cyborg' is a truly dazzling film, showing that Park has more up his sleeves than grim and gore.
