The Runaways were a teenage, American all-girl band who performed their own blend of heavy metal, rock and punk in the 1970s. They led the rock’n’roll high life with platinum albums and worldwide exposure, while having to contend with sexist attitudes, critics, drugs, and heartache, which caused a whirlwind of confusion, good times and bad. The Runaways paved the way for female artists and female bands to enter the male dominated arena of rock 'n' roll and allow them to stand toe to toe with their counterparts. They are named as influences by countless male and female artists from Courtney Love to Megadeth. They proceeded to blaze a singular trail like no other all-female rock’n’roll group had before them.
In the auditorium will be live and documentary footage of the band and the Heavy Heads DJ’s will be in the bar playing a selection of heavy rockin’ sounds.
