Kimya Dawson, anti-folk heroine of K-Records, is one of those rare birds that make you feel like she needs you as much as you need her. She sounds happy and sad and scared and brave all mixed up together, and also kinda like the girl part of the Moldy Peaches because she is the girl part of the Moldy Peaches. Kimya's songs are like radio ballads that don't get played on the radio because they don't sound like radio ballads. Her long rambling wordy epics and simple acoustic ballads and honest to goodness heart and soul will charm you and your eardrums too.
