SUZAN PEETERS is a Brussels-based accordionist, composer and improviser. She is constantly searching for new timbres and sound textures within the accordion, pushing its acoustic spectrum to its limits by manipulating the interplay between her body and the body of her instrument. She transforms the accordion through extended techniques, objects, and live electronics.

In Oct'25, Suzan Peeters released her debut album Cassotto on the Belgian label blickwinkel. The title refers to the “cassotto” — a small resonating chamber inside the accordion that warms, softens, and deepens its tone. Listening to this record feels as if you’ve stepped into that room yourself, enveloped in a velvety world where intimacy and grandeur collide.

Following a much celebrated performance at this year's Rewire festival, Peeters is rapidly becoming recognised as one of the most promising names in Belgium’s experimental music scene. Her distinctive live shows — from leading venues across Belgium to a packed Café Oto in London — have earned her a reputation for combining accordion, electronics, voice and unconventional objects into a compelling whole where contrasts come together in an unexpected way. This performance will be her first in Bristol.

AUGUSTĖ VICKUNAITĖ is a Lithuanian sound artist based in Belgium and Lithuania. For her mesmerising live performances, Auguste utilises multiple malfunctioning reel-to-reel tape recorders, manipulating scraps of tape which might hold fragments of field recordings, voice, musical instruments, objects or found sound to create intoxicating layered audio collage.

A virtuoso of her own entirely unique and fully analogue process, her sets unfold with a dramaturgy reminiscent of cinema or theatre and might range from woozy concrète music to oneiric noise.

Augustė's performance at this year's Colour Out Of Space (a three-day festival of international experimental sound and music in Brighton) sent the audience giddy and was a "major highlight" according to both yours truly and Ilia Rogatchevski writing in The Wire. Augustė has performed extensively across Europe and recently toured alongside Sholto Dobie in Asia. We're genuinely ecstatic to be bringing Augustė to Bristol for the first time - you're in for a real treat!

JON COLLIN makes music, sound and art using stringed instruments, long tones, found objects, field recordings, friction and anxiety. Originally from Lancashire, Jon is now based in Stockholm and has toured extensively across the world. His recorded practice is based around interactions with the world through recordings made in non-studio locations.

Since the late 00's, he has released over 50 records, cdrs and cassettes on numerous labels including Discreet Music (Sweden), Feeding Tube Records (USA), Fort Evil Fruit (IRE), World of Echo and DDS (both UK). Collaborative work includes three LPs with Demdike Stare, releases of live sets with Bill Nace, Sarah Hughes, Kelly Jayne Jones, and Australia's Troth on A Colourful Storm (AUS).

Taking a fiercely DIY approach to his artistic activity, he runs the record label Early Music and ran the tape label project Winebox Press. A new LP under the moniker Early Music will be released on Discreet Music this summer. Jon performed at QWAK club #6 in Dec'19, and is one of our favourite artists!

GRIS MARGUERITE is an audio-visual performance, by Wesley Loveday (film editing) and Sarah McWatt (music). It is an exploration of nightmares developed from conversations about dreams between the two artists over many years. Instruments include processed assorted woodwind, tuned bicycle wheel, voice, hulusi and feline percussion. Perfectly suited to the Cube's auditorium and stage, the performance takes place from within a black pyramid and includes some grotesque physical manifestations spilling out from inside. This will be their debut Bristol performance and according to numerous well trusted sources, will be one of the best things we'll have seen in a long time!

QWAK club is a carefully curated event series from The Cube Microplex, bringing eclectic avant garde sounds, visuals and performance together with a fun and inclusive atmosphere.

Cheaper concessions tickets are limited and for those who would struggle to afford the price of a standard ticket. For the first time, we also are offering 'solidarity' tickets due to the high costs involved with hosting three international artists and a fourth act from the North. Solidarity tickets are for those who are in a position to offer additional support to the Cube and the performing artists and help keep the event accessible to those who cannot afford the cost of a standard priced ticket.
