The Cube kicks off spooky season with the a classic of Feline Fear, Nobuhiko Obayashi's HOUSE!

This demented pop-art fever dream is the stuff of midnight movie legend. Commissioned by Toho studios to make a movie that would appeal to teen audiences and capitalise on the recent global success of 'Jaws', the experimental filmmaker turned to his teenage daughter for advice and inspiration.  The resulting film - a mash up of 'cabin in the woods' and 'ghost cat' genre tropes - was like nothing ever made or seen before, and is very little like anything attempted since.

A surprise commercial success in Japan, it has gone on to be a perennial cult hit and Cube favourite.  Come on down for a night you'll never forget - even if you want to!

And if that cute-but-spooky Japanese kitty have got you mewling for more, then make sure you get yourself a ticket for our screening of Kaneto Shindo's 1968 Ghost Cat classic 'Kuroneko' on Sunday 29th October!
