After gracing the Cube stage for multiple sell out nights this past year – in May with her profound and moving The Birth of Death, and twice with this very show in November – we present another chance to part the curtains of taboo for Joanne Tremarco’s award-winning Edinburgh-storming impro-comedy show Women Who Wank!

Best described as "a Fool's attempt to untwist Herstory", this tragicomic one-woman improvised Fool show dives into the concealing darkness and the pleasurable light of sexual power.

With her physicality and disarming humour Tremarco takes you, gently, on an unknown journey. Her shows form out of interactions with the audience and the archetypal world. Playing with both the sacred and the profane a new play is teased out every time. Through joyful play, the show intends to offer a kind of healing for the way we treat our bodies and the earth and the ways we connect with one another.

Tremarco has received huge acclaim for the piece, a tender, hysterical, enlightening, witty and physical show which she has performed over 250 times around the world.

For her Edinburgh Fringe run, critic Fergus Morgan described her show as “a genuinely remarkable piece of theatre. Tremarco is utterly captivating” and “brilliantly physically dynamic throughout, both facially and corporeally, creating a captivating magnetism”.

Tremarco is one of Britain’s leading improvisation performers. She co-established FoolSize Theatre in 2012 specifically to create work about taboo subjects. She also fool-cilitates for The Nomadic Academy For Fools, a company who work with the amorphous archetype of the fool to create comical-tragical, close and emotional, spiritual and irreverent, social and personal, individual and collective, ridiculous and serious plays out of the stuff that is in the fool, in the audience and in the room.
