Nanoplex Present: What Giants? A Kamishibai Storytelling Adventure!

-
Sat 16 June 2012 // 12:00

(Sat 16th / 12-3pm / £4/3 / Suitable for all)

Storytelling on a bicycle? It might sound curious and it is! Create your very own Kamishibai in this special workshop facilitated by our friends at
Spoke'n'Chain http://spokenchain.blogspot.co.uk

Kamishibai, traditional Japanese storytelling from a bicycle, is a form of "paper theatre" in which a dozen illustrated boards are used to tell a story. Normally, the small kamishibai stage is fixed on a bicycle. You will make your own stage, story and story panels. Bring an idea or get help creating a super story from one of the artists on the day.

All materials will be provided and for more information, contact
kari@cubecinema.com.

The workshop will be part of the inaugural Bristol Biennial
http://bristolbiennial.com/ and the artwork/kamishibais created on the day can take part in Bristol Biggest Bike Ride on Sunday 17 June.
