"I'll see you again in 25 years"

To mark the 25th anniversary of its original release, and to coincide with the return to small screens of Washington’s most famous fictional logging town, 20th Century Flicks is proud to bring back to the big screen David Lynch’s cinematic prequel to his cult TV series. Centring first on the investigation into the murder of drifter Teresa Banks, and then going on to detail the tragic final days of homecoming queen Laura Palmer (Sheryl Lee) one year later, the film presents an altogether bleaker, more disturbing portrait of small town America than its television counterpart.

Featuring a towering performance at its centre from Sheryl Lee, Fire Walk with Me also finds space for memorable comedic turns by Chris Isaak and Kiefer Sutherland, a sublimely odd minor role for David Bowie, and arguably Angelo Badalamenti’s finest score for the director. Maligned on its original release, it is now regarded by many as an essential part of Lynch’s body of work alongside Blue Velvet and Mulholland Dr., and remains one of the most uncompromising visions from this most single-minded of cinematic surrealists
