with War Against Sleep, special guest stars and dancers
(Sat 8th / 8pm / £4)

An evening of live music, film clips and music videos put together by Duncan Fleming (War Against Sleep) in tribute to the Gallic provocateur.

Known mainly on this side of the channel for the perv-funk classic Je T'aime... Moi Non Plus which went to UK number one in 1969, his legendary antics include burning a 500 franc note and telling Whitney Houston he wanted to fuck her on live TV. He was an ugly, jug-eared, chain-smoking misanthrope with a taste for improbably beautiful muses (Brigitte Bardot, Jane Birkin, Catherine Deneuve etc.), whose death in 1991 was marked by a day of national mourning in France. Posthumously revered by the likes of Portishead, PJ Harvey, Beck and Jarvis Cocker - and covered by everyone from Donna Summer to Judge Dread! - he's the epitome of French cool. Time to get sleazy with Serge.
