JACKASS THE MOVIE + BRISTOL URBAN OLYMPICS + BEDROOM SK8ING
(Jeff Tremaine / 2002 / 85min / cert 18)
(Tue 24 / 8pm / £2)

How many jackasses does it take to change a lightbulb?
Tonight for TTT the Cube is screening the definitive spectacle of the Jackass crew in their own special movie. Physical bravery is something we are
conditioned to admire - and with Jackass the Movie we can only watch in drop-jaw adulation as this gang of avant louts redraws the territory of extreme sports, using common implements, light-industrial machinery and 3-minute hyper-conceptual slapstick.

Enterprises such as surprise g-string dancing in a Japanese white goods store; getting tattooed in an offroad humvee; and humiliating their own parents onscreen, fuse high-conceptual artwork with fratboy physique. Watch as the Jackass posse, with grace, humour and finesse, assert their post-apocalympic sporting values amidst vomiting cameramen and the warm camaradie of their peers. "They're adorable!" - Pauline Kael. One for the action heroes.

Plus, in a special pre-ass screening: official footage from the 2003 Bristol Urban Olympics featuring downhill bikeracing, stonethrowing and supermarket skating ... And, for the first time ever BEDROOM SK8ING, would someone be crazy enough to build a SK8 ramp in their bedroom? In - Montpelier? Come along and find out.
