Computer games are traditionally the boys' domain, with violence and big guns the norm. However, girls can enjoy beating a two-dimensioal image to a pulp too, and the Cube's second night of computer exploration challenges the stereotype. The documentary PHALLIC SHOOTERS AND GAME GRRLS features research on the way girls play computer games, the nature of gendered identity online, and the effect of the perceived masculine nature of games and gamers.

As an illustration of some of the points raised, we will be showing the gaming classic LARA CROFT, a prime example of the way masculine priorities have invaded the computer game arena.
