Amalgam #1: Ekoplekz + Dominic Lash + Mark Durgan + Stephen Cornford + Stuart Chalmers

Amalgam brings together five Bristol musicians of different backgrounds to collaborate on in-the-moment music. In various combinations throughout the night the musicians will create sounds that cross through radiophonica, dub, noise, electro-acoustic, musique concrete and more. Be part of this unique experience where the unexpected happens.

Stephen Cornford is an artist who explores sculpture and music. He uses found objects and old audio technology. His work has been displayed at

Dominic Lash is a double bassist who studied composition at Oxford Brookes University. He has improvised throughout the world with musicians such as Tony Conrad, Evan Parker and Chris Corsano. http://www.dominiclash.co.uk/

Mark Durgan (Putrefier) has been active since 1986 and has released albums for RRRecords, Broken Flag and PAN. He uses modular pressure-sensitive synths and environmental sounds. http://markdurgan.blogspot.co.uk/

Ekoplekz (Nick Edwards) uses old analogue equipment to create sounds that combine dub, industrial and the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. He has released albums on Punch Drunk and Mordant Music. http://ekoplekznews.wordpress.com/
Stuart Chalmers (Skarabee, tusk) uses old cassette tape technology and pedals. Under various names he has release albums on Fbox and the Lows and the Highs records. http://soundcloud.com/skarabee
