An eccentric double bill of skewed songcraft and sexy psychedelia.

Crash-landing from Los Angeles, USA, comes Ariel Pink, an outsider Ziggy-esque popster who releases on Animal Collective's Paw Tracks label. Due to play the Cube back in January, he wasn't allowed into the country (though his band mates made it, and played with Panda Bear). Now he has the all-clear, and plans to spellbind you with his unclassifiable lo-brid of Brian Wilson's songcraft, the rickety psychedelia of The Flaming Lips and the mutated glam-disco of Bobby Conn, all decimated through a battered four track for your aural pleasure. The results are at once beautiful, confusing, and highly addictive.

With two albums hot off the press on Fire Records, War Against Sleep is in prolific form and on top of his game. The live band - featuring members of Knowledge of Bugs, Bronnt Industries Kapital and I Am The Mighty Jungulator! - are primed for action. There is arguably no better songwriter in Bristol right now. Form an orderly queue.
