(Babak Jalali / 95 minutes / Iran / certificate tbc / subtitles)

A subtle and light-hearted look at a community of frontier townspeople of the Turkmenistan border in a barren desert area of the steppes in Iran. It is a slow but interesting insight into the quiet lives of four men struggling with the limitations and restrictions of life in such a remote area. Their lives are simple and serious, but Jalali, who was born in the area and used only untrained actors and locals, manages to capture a flavour of the men's existence and throw a slapstick smile in the face of the community that has remained unchanged for generations.
