Don't dont don't believe the hype. Come see for yourself. The anti-comic book super-hero teen film is a sign of times and the talk of the town.

Kick-Ass tells the story of teenager Dave Lizewski ( Aaron Johnson the Nowhere Boy teen idol), a comic-book fan who decides to take his obsession as inspiration to become a real-life superhero. He chooses the super hero name Kick-Ass, gets a green gimp-type suit and mask, and starts fighting crime. Sounds like a spin off from the milky bar kid of the Watchmen? Well possibly. Sadly unlike Nite Owl Rorschach and Dr Manhatton, Kick-Ass has absolutely no superpowers or abilities.
His life changes and he suddenly inspires a subculture of copy cats, is hunted by assorted baddies, and meets up with a pair of crazed vigilantes. These include the 11-year-old sword-wielding dynamo (and film poster girl), Hit Girl (Chloe Moretz) and her father, Big Daddy (Nicholas Cage).

The big wow factor in the press was that it's a Mark Millar comic (Marvel's golden boy), adapted by Jane Goldman and directed by Matthew Vaughn (Harry Brown, Stardust, Layer Cake). The new superhero film-team beings who laughed in the face of the hollywood Iron Men.
