Making Sense

-
Sat 8 May 2010 // 20:00

(Sat 8th / 8pm / £5)

A night of live visual storytelling and home-made sense (ranging from the common to the non). Featuring music, stories, songs and bardship from artists writers and musicians with a curiosity for words and pictures. A must for those who have eyes and/or ears.

Acts include Iain Paxon of the legendary Brighton band The Hamilton Yarns, performing his entrancing and eerily beautiful tragicomic 'Bird Boy'. The lyrical/visual mind-boggler that is Jame Dudy Dench, some ferociously colourful hip-hopera from Jono Allen, a genius from Deptford. The evening will also feature music from SJ Esau, and folk duo Elspeth Macrae and Toby W Jones.
All acts will be interwoven with poetry from Poppy Panter-Whitlock, who rose one day rom the waves of the atlantic in order to bring her verse to the ears of Bristolian and her drawings to the eyes of elephants.

Also the night will see the launch of a self-published anthology of pictures and drawings of things that people have made to try to make sense of something.
