Ukulele Cabaret

Sat 4 April 2009 // 19:30

(Sat 4th/ 7.30pm / £6/5)

Aloha! Welcome to the show!

Tonight we celebrate the plucky little ukulele by bringing together some of the finest players and performers from near and far.

This evening promises to be a rare treat including performances from the fabulous Bobby McGees - Fatboy Slim’s favourite theatrical tweecore ukulele pirates. The Pindrop Tinkulele Section with their quartet of home-made oil can instruments will be bringing their delicately beautiful melodies and prepare to be amazed by the incredible Formby banjolele stylings of Graham James (as seen on TV). Will Grove-White from the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain will be dropping by for a rare solo set (tbc) and local
legends The Hot Potato Syncopators will be showcasing their unique brand of novelty swing and musical mayhem. Expect wind-up gramophones, musical saws, impromptu jams, sing-alongs, paper plane fights, and surprises thrown into the mix with cabaret superstar John Stretch at the helm. It’s going to be a night to remember!

£1 off if you bring a ukulele with you.

Come and join the party!
