Winter Wondersong

-
Wed 10 December 2008 // 19:30

(Weds 10th Dec / 7.30pm / £6 or £4 concs)

Seasonal songs with horns and ivy, anti-consumer carols, journeys into uncharted vocal territory and midwinter mayhem. Featuring the newly formed Bristol Feral Choir(inspired by Phil Minton), with Complaints Dept, Orbis Tertius?, Cube Orchestra, cabaret guests, and visuals.

Bristol FC have formed out of this year's Venn Festival Feral Choir, bringing new experiences to what is possible with the collective human voice. Improvised, wild arrangements and spontaneous utterings bring new twists to old songs, found material and scavenged syllables. An emotional rollercoaster of vocal adventure, that can make you laugh, cry and wash away your pain.

The Complaints Dept of the Bristol FC have been collecting Bristol's finest complaints, old, new, seasonal and blue. In a curmudgeon's paradise, these are arranged and sung back to you in heavenly chorus. Cabot Circus vs Credit Crunch? Corporate Crassmass vs Creative Celebration? Joining an international movement that ranges from Korea to Birmingham to Helsinki, this is one sure fire way to get it off your chest.

Orbis Tertius? are a splinter from Children of the Drone, a long standing improvising collective from Exeter. Together they form a world of twinkly stringy things & found sounds on a body of jazz drums & groove.

Cube Orchestra will join Bristol FC in creating a sonic winter wonderland.
