The Coen Brothers’ adaptation of Cormack McCarthy’s classic novel is as stripped to the bone as film making gets – an existential tale of greed and revenge set in the metaphysical wastelands of New Mexico. After a drug deal goes wrong, Vietnam vet Llewelyn Moss finds himself in possession of 2 million dollars – however, this windfall doesn’t turn out to be the end to all his problems as he had hoped, as the owner of the money happens to be psychotic killer who will stop at nothing to reclaim their property. Complex and terrifying, this is without doubt the Coen’s finest work to date.
