David Lynch once again takes us on a picaresque journey through the mysterious subconscious of LA and Old Europe in this trademark tale of 'a woman in trouble'. The woman in this case is Laura Dern, who materialises as a number of female characters, all seemingly linked by experience though different in social and psychological status. Inland Empire really finds like the summation of the director's past few works, an out-takes album of lost ideas and enigmatic puzzles to stretch the mind and take us to that place we all know as Lynchville.
