USERLAND - free and open software at the Microplex.

As part of a national workshop tour, Mute Magazine and the Cube co-present a 2 day introduction to free and open source software & culture.

11:00 - 14:00 workshops: expect practical, hands-on help in building a pornsite or creating a community web project using the OpenMute toolset
(http://openmute.org) and Ubuntu Linux tools.

16:00 - 18:00 presentations: retire to the Cube auditorium for
free, public talks presenting the history and contextualisation of free software through practical application. Speakers include Simon Worthington (Mute Magazine / OpenMute); Graeme Hogg (Cube Microplex); local blogger stars Lady Lucy and Mr Hopkinson; and Agnese Trocchi from Candida TV (Rome). Followed by live laboratory demonstration of Cube Cola production (public recipe), and open source cocktails in the Cube bar.

Workshops: 10 places, £20 for the 2 days.
Presentations: are free and open to the public.
