The Cube is stoked to bring you the exciting Berlin-based outfit Camera, with support from Bristol's The Carbon Manual. Both acts are totally dynamic live, so this gig is gonna be motorifik! I'm so excited I'm making words up. Go check out Camera's great new album and you will be too. As if that wasn't enough, we're gonna kick the evening off with Taos Humm, who have their début album poised for release.

Camera

This is what they say: "The Berlin band is rightly compared with icons of seventies Krautrock such as Neu! and La Düsseldorf, with a tight and driving sound, yet they are still somehow unpredictable. Hardly any other band understands how to mutate tiny musical nuances into volcanic eruptions like they do. Camera is a motor running at full throttle, where an explosion could occur at any second."

I say "Listen to their fab album on Bandcamp. It says it all. They do their genre proud, adding more interest to their sound than others."

The Carbon Manual

This is what's been said about them: "Go and see The Carbon Manual live... make sure you find a way to see this deliriously odd 3-piece. Their records are fine and all, but they lack the visceral impact of Jeremy Gluck's serial killer stage presence, the disarmingly tinny drum machine beat (a sound that recalls Throbbing Gristle in their 20 Jazz Funk Greats pomp) and the sense that the group has manifested in our reality from the Black Lodge. Barking poetry over guitar drones, they're immediately arresting and totally freaking brilliant." Clash Magazine

I say: "Yeah! Their debut album WHEN I AM MEMORY has been recently remixed, plus you can also find a sampler of their music on Bandcamp:"

Taos Humm

Stolen Body Records say: "Three piece freak out garage n psych band with the capabilities to bring you to the depths of depravity and swing you back up with your ass shaking. 2 songs were featured on our Vegetarian Meat compilation as well Howling Owl records releasing one song for RSD 14. A full LP is in the works for 2017 and will be released jointly on Stolen Body Records and Howling Owl Records."

I say: "Having caught them live at a 6music fringe event I know they rock. Having pre-auditioned their album I know we have a treat in store for you all!"

With tunes spinning in the bar, this has got to be the best start to the weekend!
