Alfie Ordinary débuted his first ever full length solo show “Help! I Think I Might Be Fabulous!” to a sold out Marlborough Theatre audience as part of Brighton Fringe 2016, and subsequently won the International Touring Bursary in a unanimous decision from The Pebble Trust.

“Help! I Think I Might Be Fabulous” is a hilarious and heart warming tale that exploring themes of pride, shame and masculinity, Alfie questions the norm. In a world where boys are told to wear trousers and girls are told to wear skirts, Alfie challenges what it really means to be a man and teachers how to come to terms with being Fabulous.  Alfie takes the audience on a musical journey that spans his time at a ‘Madame Leqoq’s Preparatory School for Fabulous Boys’ and his dealings with a closeted fabulous friend, John. Because Alfie has lived a privileged life of fabulousness (due to his drag parents) he’s unable to empathise with John’s conservative attitude towards his own fabulousness – and this is where the music comes in. What follows is an hour of Alfie convincing both the audience and ‘John’ that gender is a construction, and that masculinity is a destructive component of human culture. But of course he does that by singing the Village People’s YMCA in the style of Kate Nash.’   “a cleverly handled commentary on society’s obsession with masculinity.” – Vada Magazine

Alfie has been taking the UK drag and cabaret scene by storm with his unique take on drag as the UK’s only Drag Prince (the son-of-a-drag queen). Alfie has worked alongside some of the UK’s top cabaret artists such as David Hoyle and Dickie Beau, and international drag stars such as Raja Gemini, Latrice Royale, Alaska Thunderfvck and Kim Chi.

Cube DJs will be sonically queering up the bar afterwards for your dancing/mincing pleasure too.
