Strange Billy the Saint & Bernadette Pike -
(Saturday Oct 26th / 8pm / £5 advance)
The Bristol album launch for this local duo. The band set intimate songs to a glitch-thrash soundtrack and 'A Love Story' charts the tale of the awkward, passionate, obstacle-strewn start of their relationship. The launch includes full backing band, special guests, projected images, storyteller Jet Macdonald and the customary banter. This will be a one-off show in celebration of love, the launch and The Cube.
Landslide Purist -
Usually seen violently and dexterously abusing the drums, Sean Talbot’s Landslide Purist project finds him at the keys composing intricate, melancholic and deranged piano sonatas. Backed by SJ Esau on voice and vibes, this will be the first time these works have been allowed to be performed in public.
Principle Participant -
Principal Participant is the synthetic alias of David Edwards, who also records as Minotaur Shock (4AD/Melodic). Having released a digital album 'Principles' compiling 12" singles and extra tracks, Principal Participant is about to launch a new album 'Particles'. Inspired by a fondness for 70s Kosmische, 80s Detroit and 90s Warp, expect some melodic electronic tangles and danceable computer fumbles.
Jemima Surrender -
Girl/boy, guitar/drums duo from Bristol making balladic fuzz with hooks and claws. Think Nina Nastasia crossed with the Breeders via Serge Gainsbourg and a Poldark obsession.
Also Performing throughout the building on the night will be Pip's Jukebox & B.O.S.O.M
Plus, Masks, Cakes, Banners, and Balloons!
Please note also that the band have very kindly agreed to donate their fee and any profits to the freehold fund.
